Roosebeck Medieval Fiddle 4-string Maple *Blemished
BLEMISHED:
In the late Middle Ages medieval fiddle also known as vielle or fidula was the most respected and most common instrument along with the harp.
The body of the instrument is made of maple, the top is made of spruce, the tailpiece and the fretboard are made of walnut wood. The neck is also maple. The tuning pegs and endpin are satinwood. It has 4 strings the 1st 3 are gut and the 4th is nylon silver wound.. It has two C shaped sound holes on the soundboard with a removable bridge. The Medieval fiddle has no chin rest and no shoulder rest. The angle of the neck is more parallel with the soundboard. Used to play 2 strings at the same time: one as a drone.
Suggested tuning is: E5 A4 D4 G3 Range: G3 E6
Includes a padded gig bag and bow made of Lacewood with synthetic hair.

There is no warranty on strings. Manufacturers recommend that you change the strings every 3-4 months. It is always a good idea to keep an extra set of stings to replace any that may break. You should always wipe down your strings with a clean dry cloth after use. If you store your instrument, you should consider changing the strings when you pick it up again.
What is BLEMISHED?
Our product codes ending in "-1(S)" or "-2(S)" are blemished. These products are new and unused with superficial blemishes that may include, blisters in the finish, scratches, dents, stains, discoloration, rust or pitting on metals, imperfect glazes, non-structural repairs such as putty in nail holes, or other surface marks. A "-1(S)" product has minor blemishes and a "-2(S)" product has moderate blemishes and/or minor repairs. The irregularity does not affect the playability or sound quality of the instrument.
Product codes ending in "-3(S)" and "-4(S)" are also new and unused, but came to us needing repairs. If it's a "-3(S)," the product has been repaired, but if it's a "-4(S)," it will still require significant repairs when received by the customer.
